Default Pics of the truck on our move to Alaska

I took a few shots of the truck during our drive to Alaska from South Carolina and figured I'd share them. Looks like I need an AAL since the rear is sagging with about 750 lbs of stuff in the bed. They're a mixture of pics taken from Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, and Quake Lake.

What a great drive! It was a bucket list item for me. The road is all paved now. There was some damage near Laird Hot Springs when I drove it in 2012. You'll have more lake picture opportunities along Muncho Lake and Lake Kluane. Stop at Lake Kluane to see Soldier's Summit if you can. The short hike will give great views and some interesting history.

Here's an advertisement for labor during the highway's construction in 1942:

I actually made it to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory last night. Great place! You're spot on about Muncho Lake. Some of the most picturesque scenery that I've ever seen.

So far the road has been in great shape with only a handful of rough patches. All of the snow just melted up here so I'm sure they'll fix those soon.

I also stopped at Liard Hot Springs but didn't have any swimming clothes. Looks like a great place for a dip. I will definitely bring something to swim in for the drive back to the lower 48 in a few years.

Here's a pic from Muncho Lake.

Spent nearly 5 years stationed at Shaw AFB and lived in Sumter. Great place. We're really going to miss SC.
