Default Anyone install or make a built in Qi phone charger?

I am thinking about installing a Qi or "inductive" smart phone charger into my center armrest console. This is the type of charger where you just lay your phone on it and it charges. The inside of the console is full of stuff so I am thinking about putting the charger in top of the armrest. Maybe underneath the cloth and maybe on top of it but sunk in a bit and on a non slip surface to lay the phone on.

Wondering if anyone has done this or similar project.

I think Ford offered it I. The dash tray but you couldn't see your phone. My set up worked great when I had the Nexus 5. Nexus 6 has a curved back so I stopped using it and just plug it in now

Correction they have it hidden in the console and it's 200.00. Very steep for a 20 part

This is for a silvarado, but I am thinking something like this.

I have the Galaxy S7 and they make a dash mount Qi charger already but I thought built in would be nicer.

Did you figure something out? I'm looking to make one too. Not shelling out $225 to Ford for this.

I got a Tylt Vu car charger on Amazon. The reviews said the mount sucks so I got a Ram Mount for a Garmin GPS. They use the same ball mount size. I used double stick tape to mount it to my console.
