Default A/C on but not "on"

I think my A/C may have a mind of its own. I usually leave the HVAC control on the panel vents and the temp dial all the way cold in the summer. No A/C options are selected so the system should not be calling for A/C. When I start driving I'll put the windows down to cool the interior off before engaging the A/C. However, after a few minutes it definitely feels like the air coming out of the panel vents is conditioned. A few moment later, it will go back to the ambient air temperature. Anybody else experience this?

My truck turns my AC on and off depending on what temperature I set it to keep the truck at. Pretty sure that's been a feature of the new climate control system for a while.

Mine has a mind of its own too. Sometimes when I start the truck, the ac goes to full blast. I can understand this if you have the auto button turned on, but my entire ventilation sys is turned off. Other times I'll start driving and the auto button light turns itself on and fan speed goes to full speed.

I believe there was another post about this same issue just a couple of days ago.

Evidently, the AC will cycle on for a short while even if its set to off in conditions when it senses that there's too much moisture. Kind of like a dehumidifier. I believe that was the general consensus.

I was thinking (hoping!) this might be the case. The level of automation in these new trucks scares me sometimes.

Would be an interesting question to ask a Ford Tech. I have seen this happen on other makes so its not just Ford. But with A/C off and dial at 66 degrees or so it def feels like a little A/C kicking in. With A/C on I always chose to circulate the air within the cab and gets much cooler. This is nothing to worry about.

Default 2011 f150 xlt 5.0

I have had my truck back to dealer 3 times. Manual System A/C blows cold for about 20 seconds and then the compressor disengages for about 5 seconds and then back cold so on and on. The first trip to dealer they added a little freon. The second trip they added freon at 2 oz intervals not to exceed 4 oz total per the Ford Engineers. A total of 4 oz was added and it made the system blow colder but it still cylcled on and off. Took it back 3rd time and they checked freon levels again with no change and replaced a sensor. Air from ducts now blows 31 degrees and when cycling off 35 degrees. I went back to dealer yesterday and checked new F150 with 5.0 and it only blew 35 degrees and up to 38 degrees when cycling off. I was given a loaner 2011 F150 5.0 while mine was in the shop for 3 days and that A/C also cycled on and off. After all this it was determined it is normal for A/C to cycle on and off. My dealaer service manager said he thinks Ford Engineers knows there is a issue or they wouldn't have advised adding freon.

haha the a/c is SUPPOSED to cycle on and off it's done this since the beginning of time. The A/C overlords made it like this.
