I connected my phone to my truck the day I got it, and it's been connecting on its own from that day on. The only time it has "issues" is if I start the truck w/ the phone too far from the truck and it can't find it at the time it initially tries to connect to it ... but then all I have to do is go to the settings and the phone is listed as a saved device, and I just touch the "connect" button and it sees it right away.

EDIT TO ADD: I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone running Android 4.4.2 KitKat ... and my truck is a 2014 FX4 w/ MyFord Touch/SYNC

Now, if you want to get into SYNC voice commands, that's a whole 'nother story LOL.

What's going on with your voice commands, (Chief) Wiggum?

'Tis a wise dealership you have, Chris! You can also try a reboot of your phone, or a quick off and on of the Bluetooth on your phone.

Since your End Call button is involved, I'd like you to perform a master reset, like bsmit24 said, by following these instructions:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...ter-reset-sync

Afterwards, re-pair your phone like this:

Then, follow these instructions to turn Auto Phonebook Download off:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...phonebook-sync

(Note: these are the instructions to turn it ON, but they are the same as turning it OFF.) If you get a spare minute this weekend, give it a try and let me know on Tuesday.

And yes, it flashes "Call Ended" even when receiving text messages.

Good thing I didn't buy my truck for Sync. Because if I had I'd of probably regretted my decision. Sync is bloody terrible.
My goal is to convert you to my side of SYNC where it's all rainbows and sunshine. LOL

Are you willing to try something for me? It sounds like you have Motorola Assist turned on, and that can cause these issues. Would you mind turning it off for the weekend, and also making SYNC a trusted device? If you're unsure of how to do this, check out this article:

If you guys aren't comfortable with your "homework assignments," please let me know; I'll have my boy Chuck get involved.

I have a Droid Razr M and a Samsung Galaxy S4. Sync works great with both of them. Calls, text messaging, I Heart Auto, voice commands.

I did have to delete the Droid, and add it again when it updated to Android 4.4.2. But only that one time, and it has worked flawlessly since.

So is it listed as a saved device? If it's not actually saved into sync, that is a problem and you should probably see the dealer. If it's an issue of it not being connected, I have that all the time. While I almost never actually talk on the phone in the car, I use the bluetooth audio all the time, and Sync usually has to find my phone and connect before it plays audio, but it should do that all itself.

my phone automatically connects (as i said above), but whenever I switch to BT Audio, it has to "find" my phone ... but i dont have to do anything to make it do that ... i just change the input to "BT Audio" and it pops up a window saying "connecting to X" and then in about 2 seconds its ready to go ...

I can only assume that's how it is designed to work.
