Default PETITION: Ecoboost Guage Update

Under Gauge Mode/Gauge Detail there is the first output of Transmission Temperature.. when you select the next option to the right, there is a blank screen... Ford should put a Boost Gauge here for Ecoboost equipped trucks

Would be nice! I just don't get having the blank screen. They could have a lot more gauges in that screen!

I looked at getting an EDGE INSIGHT, but just don't want to spend $399 for something that should already be in the trucks gauges......Darn FORD

you can put a boost gauge where the coin holder is on the dash (on non 4wd vehicles), but i would rather something integrated into the system, somehow Ford left this out...

Please don't laugh too loud (ok, go ahead)... But what is a "boost gauge"? And why do I need one?

its a kinetic display of instant positive air pressure going into the intake manifold.. you need one because it can accurately describe any malfunction of forward motion without tripping the service engine indicator...

LOL

Jed-- forced induction engines (with turbochargers or superchargers) have positive pressure in the intake, rather than vacuum like you'd see on a naturally aspirated engine. The positive air pressure "forces" more air into the combustion chamber, and eventually leads to MOAR POWA!!!

So the boost gauge shows you how much pressure is built up from your turbo/supercharger.

Well thanks for the explanations. Sounds like it would be cool to have, but I'm 98% sure I'd never check it. I'm probably just missing the real-world significance of those pressure numbers though.
