Default Performance Chips?

I have a 2011 fx4 supercrew 5.0L and was wondering if i should get a performance chip? What are the pros and cons of getting one and which one is the one to get?

Chips are a thing of the past for the most part. Reflashing the pcm is what's popular. With a reflash tune. You will gain small HP and torque. But will eliminate the speed limiter and improve throttle response. And have better trans performance (more structured to your application( performance, economy or towing))

Also the tuners have the ability to bring out the HP in any hardware mods you would ad Like intakes, exhausts, superchargers. Any performance mods almost always will require a re flash to see the full advantage of it.

The two major people (tuners) are 5star and VMP. Chech out their web sights. I run tunes from both of them. They both write custom tunes for the sct unit

Let me make a little more sence of what I wrote. You will need a sct tuner. Usually an X3 (it will hold 3 custom tunes) and a tune writer (VMP, 5star, ect) to write the custom tune for you. Then once you have the sct tuner loaded with your custom tunes. You are now ready to flash your pcm. Once flashed you can return the truck to stock easy with out pulling chips. This way it is easy to return the truck back to stock pcm flash when you need to

Contact Mike at 5-Star tuning...he is a great guy and knows what he is doing...super responsive to your e-mails and will build what you need in your tune. Most importantly...he knows the ford product.... You will not believe the difference....
