There's not a whole ton you can do, leather wears, that's just kinda what it does. I wouldn't go to Ford for replacement though. Do yourself a huge favor and go to an independent upholstery shop and talk to them. Not only can they replace just the worn panel, (or the whole seat bottom if you want) but you can also get a more durable and higher quality cut of leather.
I hear you on the jeans, contracting only adds to that since I am dusty a lot of the time. I just figure ford peddles these trucks as workhorses and I feel like the seat should wear a bit better across the board especially with the meticulous care I give them.

So long as it doesn't rip or split like my Jag seat did. Jag replaced the cover but it looked terrible in just 30K miles.

Mine would already be at the cracking stage, though it appears just the top layer has given way currently. I am hoping they don't get any bigger or deeper.

I do wish I may have waited on a 13 just to see if those seats are fairing better. I have only found a few complaints about that brand of suede online, most folks that have it love it and they say it makes for one hell of a steering wheel cover too.

I did note that in the 15-16 trucks the perforations are smaller in diameter and are more plentiful. Not sure about the significance of that change but something I noticed.

I also make sure I am never sliding out of the seat, kind of a pet peeve.

Just curious if others have the perforated seats showing wear like mine. I am going to see about buying a replacement from ford but figure it's expensive and probably have to buy the whole cover. I doubt these cracks can be repaired.

funny you should post this. I happened to see an F150 yesterday with that same leather and couldn't believe how worn it looked.

Eventually I will upgrade mine to katzkins leather, although the alancatra or whatever it is in my Tremor does look nice.

I had a 2013 Lincoln MKT and the drivers seat was worn on the side bolster to where there was no finish left, just raw leather. That was with under 20K miles on it. My mom has a 2009 MKS and her seats look terrible. The seats in my old F350 Dually held up better than both Lincolns with 130K miles on it. So far with 43K on mine, they are looking great, needs a cleaning though, but the leather is undamaged.
