Default People who have do spark plugs on Ecoboost

Did y'all replace the boots? I see the video fordtechmakuloco recommended it, especially if there is carbon tracking.

I picked up sp534 spark plugs in the USA (O' riellys 50% cheaper than Canada.)

Any Canadian brothers bought boots up here? Best option (I'll go back across the line if its far cheaper like the plugs were)

Also the plugs I bought were gapped at .030 except one which was .028 (I adjusted it to 0.030 without touching the electrode) which surprised me (thought I'd have to gap them all.)

Cool, did you have trouble with the connectors? I half assed tried to get them off, the red tab comes down but I'm having trouble pulling the connectors off.

I had stop until I'm able to buy a stool or find something to stand on....

How often do you change yours? I'm at 127k km and I'm doing them because I got a code and the truck is in limp mode...

No I didn't have any issues. Be careful as the red clips break easily.

My tuner recommends a gap of .026 so thats what i run..have been also running a different heat range also..SP 542 plug but am going back to the 534's.

300k on mine and I did not replace the boots. Truck does not misfire anymore! Hardest part of the job was disconnecting the coil pack connector. Ended up breaking 4 of those stupid little red tabs.

The tabs come easy I knocked em all out with little effort, my problem is pressing down on the grey part and pulling the connectors off! Looks like in fordtechmakuloco video the connectors faced up, mine face down. Anyways I'll try again once I get a step stool tomorrow...

I've changed plugs on EB's more times than I can count between the two I've had and several friends that have had them.

On my personal truck, I'm at about 85k miles, bought it new, have been tuned since it had about 10k on it, and I believe this is my 4th set of plugs. I have yet to touch or replace the boots.

When it comes to the clips and connectors on the coil packs themselves, pull that red tab down, but before you depress the grey release clip, push the connector up towards the coil further as if you are reinstalling it. Then push the release and pull down. I have found that most times between everyday driving and gravity, then slide down a bit and are basically sitting on that release. You have to free than tension first. Hope that makes sense.

Once equipped with a stool, I was able to get the connectors off, its true pushing them in slightly before depressing the tang works great.

All plugs came out at 0.038 lol I was surprised as so many people on the internet complain about the spark plugs wearing out quickly. Cylinder #2 plug had one small crack, hence the current code of misfire cylinder 2.

Put in new spark plugs SP534 gapped to 0.030, torqued down 11ft/lbs and fired it up. Fired up good after a micro second stumble. Turned it off and then cleared the codes with my torque pro app.

I'm gonna test drive it after work tomorrow. I wonder if it will be much difference 0.038 to 0.030 gap...

First time the plugs have been out 127k kms
