Default Payload WTF?

I have never had this come to my attention until recently. Why in the world is the payload on my SCrew F150 so low. It's the same as a freaking Honda Ridgeline sport. With a full tank of fuel, 4 guys a small boat and a little gear in the bed and I am over my payload.....

Is it so low to get more people to buy Super Duty's?

If you look at the frame and axles of the Super Duty's, you will see why they have a larger payload. Also the new electric steering in the F150 is not as robust as a hydraulic unit.

Year?
Payload rating?
GVWR?
Trim level?

Lots of things factor into the overall weight of the truck. My Plat weighs roughly 6080lbs as she sits. That's pretty heavy for a non Max Tow truck and I'm at 7200lbs GVWR.

A well optioned higher trim level will weigh a ton. Those options eat payload quickly.

That being said, think you would have even known it unless you actually checked the sticker?

I think my GVWR is 7350, my truck is a 2013 FX4 157" wheel base and I can't remember the trim 402a maybe?

no doubt, but with me and a full tank of fuel in the truck, I can't barely put maybe 800lbs in the truck....

Do I have to add fuel weight to the payload? I would think fuel would be included, but maybe I'm wrong.

Yep, so your FX4 luxury package adds weight. Items like the upgraded stereo, HIDs, leather, your 6.5" bed...they all seem like negligible weight but when put together they add up fast.

My 1117 of available payload gets eaten up QUICK once you add a full size adult or two. I'm rarely fully loaded, but it will happen.

My F150 XLT has 1400# payload. My dad's Chevy 2500HD has 3000# payload.

Your f150 weighs almost as much as your dads 2500 too.
