Passenger side HID headlight stopped working
Hey all,
I have a 2012 f150 that I put an OEM 2013 HID setup in about 5 years ago. Never had an issue until today when my passenger light would not turn on. Any ideas on if this could be a bulb, ballast or something else? Not sure where to start since this is not a regular bulb replacement.
thanks!

If it’s a bulb and you’re short on funds, let me know. I have a set that I was given for free when a guy replaced his. I’d be glad to pay it forward. Shipping was about $9 for me to get them. So I couldn’t imagine it’d be much for you.
I cant remember how many hours he guessed, but I only had them in for about 3 months before swapping for CBIs. I know they both function tho. No worries there.

I have an '11 Lariat. I did the '13 HID update as well. I believe it was around Sept, '13 when I did it. I bought a set of complete HID headlights and adapter harness. Less than a year later I had an issue with the passenger side high beam not working. The shield that partially blocks the bulb had quit moving. I checked all my connections on the adapter harness and reapplied dielectric grease. Still a no go. Then I had read somewhere in a post that a few people were having an issue with the adapter harness. Luckily I was able to get a new updated harness under warranty. If you haven't already I would check your harness connections and apply dielectric grease.

Thanks all for the suggestions and the offer on the bulbs! The stupid light started working on its own so I guess it’s not fuse or bulb? Maybe the ballast is starting to go is my only guess. Works fine right now though.

Yes I realize you added the HID's after the fact, I did the same thing but you still have the fuses.

I have read quite a few posts about the harness to go from halogen to HID going bad and people having issues like you. The solution was the harness needed to be replaced to get them working again or had to "fix" the harness with whatever bad connection was causing the issue. Some found corrosion on the plugs, others found something a lot harder to fix with the control box thing.
