I would say you have a faulty wife. I have the same problem [the air bag not the wife] and was told by 2 different dealers that the system was working as it should and if the passenger is a light weight it cant tell the difference between my wife and a child and to try shifting in the seat until the light goes out. I got so PO'd I just disabled the light by removing the lens and putting a piece of black tape over the LED and then replacing the lens. Now she feels so much safer. and I don't have to listen to her complain.

I won't lie. If I see a recall on this later I'm going to be so ticked. Mine also did this. I even took a pic of it indicating the airbag was off with my wife sitting in the seat. Still, the dealer said it was probably her fault because she might have been sitting off-center, or had a leg up, or something. WHAT?!
Periodically the light still indicates the airbag is off. Periodically it gets under my skin. They didn't fix it for me. But boy, they sure had a list of reasons why it *couldn't* be bad.
(And yes, I understand that sitting sideways or what-not can affect the weight contacts, etc. I understand their is a "range". We're perfectly within the 'working' range for this.)

I will be bringing it in for service asap. Scares me to think if I ever got in an accident with her and this truck I paid big money for is a pile of crap safety wise.

maybe I have different lights on my '13 dash. My airbag light has both on and off sections that light up depending on if it's activated or not. I do see that on the lower series the manual states exactly what you are saying.
Does it stay on when you are sitting in that seat?

Mine has two lights, depending on if someone is sitting there it says either on or off.

weird thing is mine never lights up as airbag off even with no one sitting in it. It lights up on the engine start sequence but I never see mine on with no passenger....always on?
