I wouldn't worry, my 2009 Platinum is ready to turn 100,000 miles. Other than tires and oil changes I have spent less than $150.00 on repair parts. I did repairs myself so no labor charge. Enjoy your new truck.

Paranoid, I bought my first new Ford Truck in '83, bought my second new in 94, bought #3 new in 2000, and #4 in 2012. Had warranty replacement of front 4WD hub on #3 at 76K miles. I sold that truck at 180k. When I sold my first three, buyers were waiting just because they trusted Ford trucks.

OH! I forgot to mention the '92 Explorer, & '87 Bronco, Wife's vehicles and they only went back to dealer for service intervals. Both sold at 100k miles.

Enjoy your new Ford truck!

Drive, enjoy, and don't have another paranoid thought!

Bought my 2010 Lariat SCREW 4x4 new (first new vehicle purchase) and I also was very paranoid - so much so I got the 100k bumper to bumper ext warranty (mainly because it is also my traveling sales work vehicle too!). ALSO consider the fact that I've historically been a life long Chevrolet / GMC person but the room inside the F150 SCREW won me over!

I'm happy to say I'm a Ford believer now with 121K on my truck and literally haven't had one single issue with it!

It also has the 5.4 in it and after reading all the threads about 'cam phaser issues' I was paranoid for a long time about the littlest sounds! But I'm fairly sure that after 120k if it hasn't shown phaser issues it's probably not going to....and I am religious about oil changes and routine maintenance!

Guess it's best to enjoy !! Modifications ? Well since I have two left hands and am right handed I think I better pass on doing any work to the truck, although I am giving serious thought to some mud flaps !!

He is right imagine paying $40,000 plus for a motorcycle that when it breaks and they do the dealer tells you "Oh they all do that" and then charges you to fix it. What's worse is we fuel the fire and keep buying them.

I used to read the boating forums all the time. It is a constant stream of everyone telling you how rotten your boat is and how the engine is about to seize. I was constantly waiting on my boat to sink and leave the family stranded in the middle of the water. Nothing has ever happened though...

What you should really be paranoid about is all the money your going to spend on this truck doing MODS! You see all the stuff everyone does to
THEIR truck and then you say: I NEED THAT!
