Default paint peeling/bubling on 2011

Hey guys/gals is anyone else having any paint issues and/or any luck with Ford taking care of the problem? My 2011 Platinum has paint peeling off the front under the grill and I took it to my local Ford garage and got told to take it where I bought it. They didn't even come outside to look at it because they don't have a body shop and would have to sublet out the work, why is that my problem? So basically his advice was call the other 2 dealers within 60 miles to see if they have a body shop or take it back to where i bought it 160 miles away. I guess I'm a little less than impressed when I spend over $40,000 on a new truck I don't expect the paint to go to sh*t in 18 months. For a little more info truck was bought 11/2011 and has under 19000 miles I'm the original owner and the truck is garaged. Any advice on what action to take next or better yet does anyone have a number that I could call and get a hold of someone at Ford?

The front, as you can see the paint is actually peeling I could lift it off with my finger if I wanted to.

The rear bubbling, was hard to get a picture of I circled a large bubble, they do look like they're cracking to my eye, and there are several of them starting.

Ford needs to man up and repaint those parts - that is ridiculous!

Paint surface imperfections (which is what you have) are covered under the first 3 years or what ever the mileage is for that in the states (60k in Canada) rust perforation is 5 years or 100k. Bottom line you should be covered no problem. They may try to say the chip in the front is from a rock and they can't help that, but you can argue that if it were it should stop as a chip and not just continue peeling off. This shows signs of adhesion problems. Hope this helps you out.

First off OP...this^ is awesome and i couldn't have said it better myself.

I totally believe if you have factory paint issues, and you are not happy, to bring them back and they should be happy to take care of them for you.

But the reality is ALL, and i mean ALL manufacturers have paint problems. Just because you spent $XX,XXX on it, doesn't mean you will be free of them.

I'm going to call the number in my warranty booklet and see what customer service has to say and go from there. Definitely seems like a paint adhesion problem to me as well. I've owned lots of vehicles and motorcycles and never had paint peel like that.

It appears that there may have been some bodywork on the bumper. The flaking looks as though a flex additive was not added to the paint or the bumper was not prepared correctly. Some body shops skip it b/c it increases their costs.

I agree, i think it was repaired as well. Not so much on the flex additive theory. While i believe it would've helped, you'd be really surprised as how much clear can flex...with no flex additive.

The OP never mentioned getting work done, but factory re-sprays have been becoming more and more common lately. Something gets bunged up on the line, and re done, or it could've been scratched and re sprayed before it hit the dealer lot.

Well I bought the truck new and no damage was disclosed to me when I purchased it, and I haven't had anything done to it. I'm calling Ford Customer Relations today, if I hear anything I'll post it here.
