Default Paint Issue - Did The Body Shop Damage My Paint?

So.... My truck went into the body shop last week for bubbles in the paint on the drivers side rocker. Fixed under warranty no issue. Picked the truck up Wednesday night, went to wash it this morning and found the entire side they repainted now has these weird foggy marks on the paint.

I thought it was maybe overspray but it doesn't look like it... It's like blotchy all over the side of my truck, you can sort of see it in the pictures it looks like "fog" on the paint.

What could this be? I am taking it by the body shop in a few hours so they can look. I think it's solvent or something they got on the paint... So frustrating. I tried to buff it out in a small section but it's not working.

You can see the fog marks all around the emblem

the fog is actually on the paint not ****ty camera work.

Did you try buffing it out a bit with a lint free cloth to see if it comes off at all?

Yeah, no deal... almost like it's sealed on. It's like a foggy stain on the paint.

Looks like overspray. Can you feel it? Does it feel rough? Did you buff with a buffer or by hand?

Yes you can feel it's rougher over those spots. I did try buffing/waxing a spot around the emblem but it did nothing. The thing is, if it's overspray it doesn't look like the pale adobe color they used... it must be clear coat or something. It's a weird pattern. Yes, called Ford, they notified the body shop and I am headed there in a couple hours. Hopefully they don't try and blame me for washing it.

Take it back and make them fix it right. Or contact ford at the customer service number. I did on warranty paint and bam problem fixed after dealer gave me the blow off.

It looks like they used some corrosive chemical on the paint, possibly to remove some over spray? That is unacceptable.

That's exactly what clear coat over spray looks like. Clear coat flys farther than color. If it feels like its on top of the paint, then it's overspray

Hopefully this can be easily fixed otherwise they have to repaint the drivers fender and both drivers side doors. They were only supposed to repair the lower two-tone rocker panel on drivers side. You'd think they would have masked everything.

I doubt it will need that. Should be a simple buff
