Default Paint it all

Well bought my truck 3 weeks ago and its been at the shop for a week of it. The day i picked it up I noticed a scratch on the door. They agreed to fix it, but they tried to fix it with touch up paint. I refused the truck and they said they would paint it.

Well after painting the door it doesnt match, so they decided to paint the bed and front fender. No word yet if it matches or not. Its Flame Blue, I cant imagine its that hard to match a brand new truck. I dont know my options yet. If it doesnt match I will refuse it again, its nice that my payment is due and I dont even have it.

A good painter shouldn't have a problem. It's mostly in the mixing of the paint before it goes into the gun and the way it's applied also.

Talked to them yesterday

So far they have painted the entire door, no match.

Then they blended the bed and front door, no match.

Now they have the truck in pieces, bed, doors and front and repainted.

they should just paint the entire truck, this isnt going to turn out well. It wont match.

Dont know what Im going to do......

The little scratch on the door isn't looking so bad after all now is it? Nothing wrong with a little touch up paint and some wet sanding a couple days later and buffing it out. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

You must have your truck at the most incompetent body shop in the world. It should have been about a 3hr repair tops....sand down the area, apply paint, clear coat and wet sand, buff/blend the door....how can you not color match/blend new paint ???? They have the exact content of what you need according to the paint code....if not they can put the elctronic analyser on it and it will blend the paint for them....you need to run now before they really f*%$ up your truck more then they already have.

40 grand and a scratch on the door that I didnt do should be fixed right, they didnt sand anything at first. they just used the touch up. You could see how deep they were after they did that, even the touch up paint was darker. I just cant imagine they cant get the color right.

I don't know my options as of yet, my first payment is in 10 days. I just know its going to look like crap. If I could Id tell them to keep it and Id go get one somewhere else. At this point with the bank and paperwork I don't know my options.

The factory guy that tinted my truck scratched my door so Ford took it back a week later and sent it to the body shop. Took about 5 days but they sanded a large part of the door, painted and blended with a large part of the truck and I got it back and can't tell anything was ever done to it. Mine is black.

At this point....if you have signed the paperwork an the truck has been registered in your name......it Is yours. You will more than likely have to pursue the lemon law to get them to take it back.
