i've had sirius since january 2005 and will not go back to regular radio. There are no rock or metal stations in the NYC area, everything is pop or rap. With Sirius i have i think like 15 rock/metal stations and all the other stuff i want to listen too. plus being in the truck i dont have to worry about the handheld sirius radio like in my old truck that had to have a good station to work off of.

I had Sirius years ago in my Mazda. I did the year subscription and mid year my debit card expired so they didn't renew. Fast forward another year I get a collection notice in the mail, call the place up and its for Sirius.
Me: That was prepaid so how do I owe them anything?
Them:Well sir you didn't inform them you weren't renewing and this is a disconnect charge.
Me: Bull**** I'm not paying a disconnect fee, good luck getting it....click
I do like the travel link and will probably pay for that when the time comes.

Anyone else think the sync lady sounds like the overhead pages at the airport about FAA safety?

Having enjoyed XM and now Sirius for 9 years and having been through the renewal process each year they do state clearly the sub will auto-renew. I tell them each and every time to NOT auto-renew and each and every time I receive a notice the sub is about to expire.

So, they told you it would auto-renew over the phone and now they're collecting on a bad debt. As much as I dislike Sirius' pricing and strategies I have to side with them on this one. As a 9 year subscriber I am intimately familiar with their policies. To top it off I missed the renewal deadline a couple of times by a week or 3, called them and told them I want to renew, made a deal with them and they waived the charges for renewing after the cutoff date.

I guess you're ok with a collection agency coming after you over something that could have been completely resolved in a few minutes.

I never really thought about the sound quality on Sirius. On my old truck with a old style Sirius add on unit the sound was about the same as the trucks in dash radio. I did not notice any fall off in sound quality when I bought the new truck. But after listening exclusively to MP3's for the last month and a half I definitely noticed the drop off in sound quality when I did put Sirius on.

I originally got Sirius to listen to NFL games but now with RedZone I don't listen to the NFL on radio anymore.

And as for auto renew, I went to my account info on their website and edited the visa card number. No more auto renew.

Todd, far as I can tell it's a service just for the MFT system. It's a two part plan, one with sports scores, theater listings with some other stuff I can't remember. The other is a weather link which is pretty nice, it gives you the weather report, and also has a weather map where you can see the clouds and rain on the screen. That's the part I got for $1.95 a month.

I love Sirius or maybe its just the stations I listen too. I always see so much hate towards them. Is it just the pricing? I love no commercial radio.

Obviously you're as big of a douche as the Sirius people. Find me a sentence, paragraph anything, that says you/I/anyone is responsible for a "disconnect fee" for not notifying them in advance of expiration that you wish to not renew, in their fine print from 2007. Had I received ANY free time of Sirius radio after the fact I would admit I owed them something, however, that was NEVER the case, it was shut down as of the end date of my subscription.
So NO sir I did NOT have a bad debt, I received nothing from them warranting payment.
