Default Outside temp sensor fix

Temp sensor fix pictures, the relocation mod improved the situation but didnt solve it and I didnt want to modify the ford harness or sensor so here's my solution.

approx 8" of 1 inch id split loom
bunch of zip ties
small aluminum angle bracket
Nut/bolt

I tired 3/4 and 7/8 split loom but couldn't get the airflow that would cool the sensor off quick enough when it did heat up.

kind of hard to describe but you can see in the pictures the sensor is pointed down with the loom creating a "ram air" (hahaha) effect to cool the thing off while driving as well as providing a shield from engine heat.

Had it on for couple hundred miles no ill effects except when I use the remote start under 35' my seat gets warm is it supposed to do that lol.

Hope this helps some frustrated people.

Hmmm, was this to allow your heated seats to come on with remote start without being affected by heat coming off the engine?

I would also like to hear the reason. Either way, looks good!

Thats it, works great in the middle ground area of around 30 to 40 degrees. I used to remote start the truck when it was around 40 and I would get into the truck and the outside temp would read 55 and the ac would be on. Now it barely climbs 2 degrees.

Hey guys theres a tsb onnthe raptor forums about a external temperature sensor not working correctly and needing a software upgrade. I believe it was dated for trucks made in early 11 but maybe they never really fix it.

My old 2011 had the same issue with the external temp not being correct till I got moving a few miles.

My new 2013 Raptor does not have that problem.
