Opinions on tow mirrors?

I even went to a tint shop to see of there is anything that could be applied to the mirror to assist with the glare. No was the answer. Just for the hell of it, we cut a piece of window tint and tried, just cannot see through it to the mirror as no light passing through.
I usually have these things pointed to the sky or the ground when driving at night to avoid getting blinded. I looked at the cost of these things--over $1000 for the mirror, Ford is pretty proud of them apparently

i have had my A1 tow mirrors for about 1.5 years now.
- Auto dimming - depending on the vehicle behind me i will get some glare in my eyes. It is noticeable but to me not a big an issue. if you have a lift or mirror angled differently im sure it wouldnt be as bad.
- Blind spot - i love that i can see everything. small cars and even trucks hiding in your standard mirror blinds pot.
- towing - Huge improvement towing my 20' CC boat (26' tongue to prop) and even my little 5x8 4 wheeler trailer. I couldnt see the 5x8 with the standard mirrors and could hardly see my boat trailer if the boat wasnt on it.
- Power fold/extend - i have the power fold only. i didnt need extend for my boat. power fold was a must when shopping for mirrors and i can say it is worth every penny since parking spots are so damn small
- looks - i like the look with or without. Sometimes it looks odd with no trailer or my small 5x8 but it also looks great with the boat or large trailer attached.

My vote is YES..... put them on. I installed a pair on my 2011, and i tow very little. I enjoyed the practicality of every day driving with them compared to non tow
I just bought a 2016 Lariat, and that was one of my must have features!

I have only had one time where I had to adjust my mirrors due to glare, and I do the majority of my long distance trips after dark so the family can sleep. (I also love the silence and the ability to put the radio on what I want!) Anyhow, the only time I felt the need to adjust them was being in front of a semi with a loose headlight. Every bump it would shake and throw light everywhere. Took two seconds to adjust both mirrors and flip my review, and then 5-10 minutes later set them back to normal.
Tinted windows sure help, but I loved my tow mirrors before I tinted my windows. Also I don't have a level, or larger tires so I sit at the stock ride height if that matters to anyone on the fence.

Got these clip-ons myself and love them. Garage is narrow and I can't get in properly with the large mirrors. No movement when driving and I've always loved having the 2 mirror feature as I find I can position them more to my liking.

I have them on my 2010 KR....its a love/hate relationship. I do pull a 28' Travel trailer once in a while on camping trips with the family. Great for that. For daily driving they are good on the highway for the small convex mirror for blindspots...but on backroads, two-lane roads they are like Mickey Mouse ears. Be careful, easy to clip branches, mailboxes, drive thru's, etc.
