I was thinking of wheels/tires, HD head lights and tails first to see how it all comes together before paint. I'm leaning towards fuel hostage wheels in 18, I figured they would look good with painted bumpers. I've seen the XLT custom package in person and I really like the look.

AppDawg, do you have a build thread? Looking forward to seeing your truck when it's painted.
Whoa..... You get a 1000kms to a tank? I have a 2013 3.7L STX 4X4 and get maybe 700kms to a tank of gas, and I have a 98 liter fuel tank? I don't drive hard either. Is all your driving down hill?

3.7 is a good motor if not towing heavy loads. Should have a long trouble free life.

Btw, it has more hp than my old 4.6l which did fine...

Nice truck, KBS!

Be it mods or engine choice it all boils down to personal preference. Go with what YOU like with YOUR rationale.

Great to see that you had the class to ignore the dicks and the trolls that tried to ruin your thread.

Looking forward to progress pics!

I plan on blacking out all of the chrome on my XLT. Started with the tires and moved to the running boards. Next step is front/rear bumpers and the grill. Currently I am doing this in Plasti Dip. Once a few months go by and I still enjoy my work it will be time to look into powder coating or another permanent option.

Also love the look of the Scab! No matter what way you go, your truck is going to look good.

He probably has the 136 litre tank. That's what I've got and 1000kms is normal when not towing.

I had no idea this thread was still going! Lol. Well plans changed drastically.

A month after posting this thread I got into an accident. I was rear ended by someone doing about 40 mph. 6 months prior to this I was in an accident as well, someone hit me head on at an intersection. As a result of both I was injured and off work for over a year and that set me back financially. I then went back to school because I worked in construction and my job was too hard because of my back and wrist injuries. My truck mods were obviously put on hold. Well now 3 years later I have a full time job that I can handle and enjoy. It pays a lot more as well so my truck mods will continue next year. I now have a wedding to pay for lol.
