This weekend I hauled a cubic yard in the box and two on the trailer. Truck hauled like a boss, loader up!

Mine has a load rating of a little over 1900#s. I have put 2400# on it and it just takes the slack out of the springs. Stand and watch the operator and if it starts to sag, tell him to quit.

you'll be fine just tell the operator to dump it in slow and towards the front, no big deal once in a while. don't forget to take a pic

I guess I'm confused why they would Originally publish that low payload rating? Why not go all out from the beginning?

Change your your user name if it starts with P. You bought a truck. Not a Focus use it like a truck. Like I said if your that worried get a dump truck. A little extra wieght won't hurt on a short run once in a while

The article states they published based on early testing during development.

I just picked up 2300lbs of flooring. 5.0l 4x4 with 3.55 gears, handled the 7 mile trip just fine.

I just hauled 2-Cubic Yards of top soil in my 5.5' bed. Good thing I got airbags, had to air them up to 85psi just to keep the *** from dragging! Fortunately it was just a 5mi trip.

It's actually way too much weight. If you do the numbers 1 cubic yard of soil can be anywhere from 2000-2800lbs (depending on water content and density). So in my example below, I was over my RGAWR by 3500lbs! Like I said previously, good thing it was only 5 slow miles on neighborhood roads.

Ahh... whats up your ***? Did I ever once state I was concerned about the payload rating on my truck? No, I asked why they didnt post a correct number from the beginning.

Prius payload is 825 pounds. F150 is 200lbs more? That makes no sense. Yes, that's what the sticker says. Looks like the lawyers got a hold of that sticker at the press. Twice. So me and three of my large mammal friends hop on the F150, and I can't carry our suitcases? There's something here that doesn't pass the sniff test. IMHO.

I used to haul a yard(s) of gravel, topsoil, rock etc. with my Ranger (a '94 and an '06). The F150? Piece of cake. Just do it. It's not like you're hauling it across the country over the Rocky Mountains or something...
