I have loaded every truck I ever had overflowing with dirt, sand or gravel. It's not a big deal and the truck will be fine. I wouldn't drive down an interstate for hours but for in town trips, yep. Even had a Chevy 1500 8' bed full once and off a stop, sign I swear it wheelied. Lol.

We just loaded up over 2,400lbs of battery's in the back of a f150 at work and the payload sticker in the door jam was rated at 1,030lbs. Truck ran fine and it's was for only 5 miles. Driver said steering was not an issue at all. This is the third time we have done this too.

I put 2 tons in the back of my 88 F-250 with the leaf spring TTB in the front. Let's just say the steering was really floaty. I could almost see the ford emblem on the front!

Load it up and drive.

Once or twice every few years will be fine. Just keep it slow.

Do it daily and you will kill something!

I once loaded ~3000 lbs of hardwood flooring into a long bed Chevy with the 4.3 that had 1500 payload. Then drive into rush hour traffic..... Talk about dumb. But in my defense the guys at the shop loaded it for me while I was paying and I walked out and it was loaded to the bump stops. Drove it 20 miles with no I'll effects to anything but my heart rate.

This is my RCSB STX 2WD with a yard of dirt in the bed. You should be fine.

Should you exceed the factory rated payload? Probably not but it's not going to hurt it either as long as your smart about it. I'd probably just make two trips to stay on the safe side, it shouldn't take much more time.

You'll be fine. I've had 3,460 lbs of concrete in the back of my "half ton". It took 5,000 lbs before it broke an axle on our old 1971 F100.
