Opinion: 1/2" tire diameter Difference in a 4" Lift?
I have a 4" Rancho sitting in the garage waiting for tires. My plan is to use the 20" stock Platinum wheels. My original plan was a 295/65r20 Toyo A/T II or M/T. About the only 2 options in that size. Leaning more towards the A/T II for the amount of winter driving we have up here. They are a 1/2" taller than most 35/12.5's (typically 34.5") and a about a 1/2" narrower , giving more clearance on the UCA. Even though people have fit the 35's on the stock wheels, I just want that little bit extra piece of mind. Also the 295's are typically a lighter tire.
So with all those attributes in mind. Whats to stop me from going to a 34" tire in say a 295/60 285/65 or 275/65? For only a 1/2" difference in diameter, or 1/4" space in the wheel well. All while having the bonus of a lighter tire and more options in tires.
Yes I know I have a truck that I'm lifting, spent the money on the Rancho, and shouldn't worry about gas mileage. Maybe I'm just looking for someone that has already done the 34's and said they looked tiny. Just hard to find pics with this combo. But honestly does a 1/4" in the wheel well make a huge visual difference?

The Rancho 4" kit actually gives 5-5.25" lift. Not much less than a 6" lift. So anything smaller than a 35" tire will look small. But it all really depends on what you like and that is all that matters. I have a 2014 FX4 inbound and am going with the Rancho kit and 35s.
