I just bought a used 09 fx4 and it looks like it recently had a diy bedliner rolled on. It looked good at first and his all the scratches but not dents. I have had this truck for 3 weeks now and the liner is already flaking off. The is almost not slip resistance and it feels like worn down sand paper. The only advantage the diy has for rocker panels is if you are using it to hide scratches you can easily paint on more as is wears or falls off.

Ahhh, the beauty of spending the big bucks and doing it right the first time...

From what I recall from when I got hit along the passenger side, they'll end up repainting that whole side of the truck to get it to look right. (From what I understand, it's not so much matching the paint as it is getting the clearcoat to look right.) I think my bill was closer to $5K, but that involved more bodywork than yours--that ol' gal tagged me but good. (Her insurance paid, so I don't recall the exact amount.)

That is exactly what the body shop guy said, and that when they remove trim pieces they normally break so they replace them with new ones.

Before and after buffing.
Came out nice I think.
The pictures don't show it but the door skin is rippled some under the rear door trim.

Looks pretty good to me. For $3600, I do believe I could live with that.

Nice! A little touch up might make it as good as $3700...
