Default Which One to Buy

I am new to this F150 game and need some advice on an upcoming purchase. I am looking at two trucks, a 2013 and a 2012, both have pretty well the same the features and engines, 3.5 l v6. The 2013 has 87000 miles and a complete service history and the 2012 has 62000 with a service history that is not as complete. I am leaning toward the 2013. What do you think?

Which one makes you feel good, just to look at it?

Buy that one.

No matter what kind of luck you have with it, you'll still love it.

Based on the info you gave, the 2013 is a better choice. But you didn't give nearly enough info for a decision. No comment on rust, for instance.

I would also look at the rear axle ratio and use that as part of my decision. Would not own one with the 3:31 ratio.

+1 to that. I have an Eco with a 3.31 axle and it is gutless. Also, there were a few improvements added for 2013, the biggest being the mechanical cam driven vacuum pump as opposed to the somewhat problematic electric one used on the 11-12s. But if I were you I would hold out for a V8, especially a 6.2 if you can find it. It will be more dependable in the long run. Especially at the mileage you are looking at.

I wouldn't base it solely on the service history. Are you talking about the service history that is recorded at the dealer or by the owner? A lot of people work on their own vehicles so there is no record as to what is done unless they record it. I service my own truck with the help from my dad so my truck won't have any service history, even though I keep up on maintenance. I would personally go for the lower mileage one, and like what other have said, axle ratio.

2013 has less issues than a 12.
