Default Instrument Panel Light

Is there any way to turn off the lighting in the instrument panel in a 2011 F150 Lariat? The light is always on, when the car is started of course, regardless whether the headlights are on or not. I read the entire manual and could not find anything on it. It's not really a big deal, I'm just not sure where the light is drawing it's power from, battery was my guess.

Is there no longer a dial on the dash to adjust this on the 2011?

There is, but it doesn't turn off the intrument panel. At night, the lighting button dims the instrument panel as well as the radio contol lights, climate control lights, etc...During the day though the instrument panel is lit up (with a blue light ring that goes around the gauges). And the radio contols and all other controls don't come on until the headlights are turned on.
