Omega tune, worth it?
Hi forum,
Looking at all of these black friday deals, I can get the omega tune and an SCT X4 for around $500. Good deal? I want to pull the trigger, just want some help.
Thank you!

Omega is new and is being touted by a few here. But it's also expensive.
Need a bigger pool of users for me to consider it. Still wonder about a placebo effect too when comparing it to other tunes.

I have mixed feelings with my Omega Tune. Have been running it for a little over a month and a couple thousand miles. I also have several tunes from both MPT and 5 Star. I have not data logged with any of them either.
Omega definitely didn't wow me like so many others claim. Have yet to really hear from anyone who tows with it or that has an off-road oriented truck. In my opinion, it seems like most of the people running it are drag racing the truck on the weekends at the track and then driving it to work on Monday, and that's who it seems like this tune was really designed for. The ability to run any octane is nice. Omega doesn't have the throttle tip in like MPT does so I guess what you're feeling is real power vs perceived from increased throttle tip in. At first the decreased throttle tip in was nice but I'm starting to think I miss it. Omega definitely doesn't hold gears as long like MPT even when being light footed and doesn't down shift as quickly as MPT. My biggest gripe about the Omega for me is it doesn't seem as predictable to how it will react to pedal input unlike my MPT 87 Performance Street which was very predictable in terms of when the truck was going to shift or hold the gear. I also never saw the MPG increase so many were claiming on the facebook group when switching from other tunes, I never really expected one going into it. MPG is no worse or better than it was with my others tunes.
And honestly, the Omega doesn't FEEL as powerful as my MPT 87 Performance Street and I've been running 91-93 with Omega from when I first uploaded it. I stress the word feel because whether or not it is true based on actual power numbers I do not know. It's never been about power numbers to me and never will be. It's about how the truck feels to me and always knowing how it will react and perform in a situation. This is why I feel I liked my MPT 87 Performance Street better. I don't drag race my truck. It's daily driving, towing, and various off-roading.
Not bashing Ken and Oz Tuning by any means. Never once did I feel he mislead me about anything. He is always quick to respond and his customer service is great. I will be switching back to my MPT tune later this week to see if I really missed it or not. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference for some or a power numbers game for others. For me its personal preference and feel.
