Default Oil pressure gauge installation on 2012 5.0

Has anyone installed an oil pressure gauge on a 2012 or newer 5.0L? I bought the sandwich plate adapter and gauge for my old 5.4L but never hooked it up. I assume the procedure would be the same? And does anyone know if the threading is the same for the 5.0L and the 5.4L for the oil filter? TIA

Cant help with the 2012 + but on both of my 03 5.4L i removed the factory oil pressure sending unit, installed a little nipple then a Tee. Screwed the factory sending unit on one side and the Autometer sending unit on the other side.

Thanks for the info, I assumed the procedure would be similar to the 5.4L since the 5.0 utilizes the same block.

The oil sending switch is behind the alternator. You will have to take the alternator of.It is easier to get from the bottom. My truck is lifted and my son was able to squeeze in to get it out.I will try and find the pics I took of the install.

I put one on my 14, 5.0. Just like said above the alternator has to come out to have room to work. I used a threaded tee fitting so that I still use the trucks oil pressure switch and added the oil pressure gauge's sending unit. Bought an AEM digital gauge that is fitted in the middle of the driver's side left A/C vent. Roush sells the gauge mount for the vent.

So no one has used the sandwich plate adapter between the filter and the block?
