Default Oil Level after oil change is low

I just changed my oil myself. Used FOMOCO filter called for and 6 Qts of 5-w20 Motorcraft .
Stick reads almost 1/4" low after running engine awhile and then checking after leaving it sit for 30 min. Multiple level checks. It is not completely full according to dipstick.
Have any of you guys seen this ? Did you add extra oil to the full mark?
Book says 6 Qts.
All this for below truck with 3.7L engine
Thanks, Pete

As long as its in the working range, I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is between the add and full marks you are a good. However, running the engine after an oil change, the oil level will drop some because some of it remains in the oil filter. You can add a little more to top it off if you want, but as long as it is between the add/full mark you are good.

Are you sure you're on level ground? I'm sure you have, but check drain plug and filter and make sure you're not leaking out of there and, if not...don't worry about it
