What was the point of getting Cooper tires? Just wanted a bigger tire? Those aren't much better than what was on it..

Whatever man, you seem to think the same thing about every tires out there. You even said once that the Duratrac are bad because they last only one year... you most likely never had them...

Well if you drive 60 000 miles a year and spin the tires every corners yes they will last a year... so will the mini van michelin tires you have under your truck.

Also, I just read my original post... didn't ask you if my tires were good... in fact I didn't even talk about my tires at all!

Keep up the informative posting man, you're the best out there

^^ Ignore him, judging by his posts he is a very negative person

That's good the shop is fixing their mistake. Some shops are owned by scum bags that will tell you to get lost.

Thanks

Yeah, small shop in a small city. The guy will not risk his reputation for a single rim even if this will end up costing him few 100$

IMO it;s getting harder and harder to find a decent place to get some work done on any vehicle. Glad they are getting it right for ya.

Ugh...this is why we DON'T do anything but steel rims at my shop. We have an old tire machine that does this. Sorry to see this.

According to the owner his machine is fine. The "operator" was getting tired because it was 6h30PM and wanted to go home. He went to fast and didn't pay attention...

Could have been worst, he could have drop the truck off the lift ;-)

Some people, I don't get it. If I'm doing brand new rims even on a stock f150, I still am careful as hell. Not saying I'm not with beat up rims but it's 'less' likely right. At least they're getting you a new one

When I got my new rims and tires, I made sure to tell the guy not to send me an idiot that would mess them up. He said, "of course not, I'll give you my best guy" (4 different guys worked on it, so it was just a line to keep me happy). I did not give him the keys though, I told him that when they were ready to work on it, to come get them from me. That guaranteed that they wouldn't start without me. When they got ready, I walked into the shop and watched them. I told each person that touched a rim, "The manager said that he wouldn't send me an idiot that would mess up my rims. Are you an idiot?" They did not mess anything up. I'm a pretty big guy, but I really think that they are just more careful when someone is watching.

This is what I do every time I have to let someone other than the dealership work on one of my vehicles. One time the manager told me that I couldn't be in the shop and I told him that I would go somewhere else. He let me stay. If you plan to do this, you need to make sure that you have real shoes on (not sandals) and some type of eye wear (like sunglasses). Some places don't care and others do.

Another piece of advice: never bring in a dirty car. If the place thinks that you don't care about the vehicle, they won't care.
