Off road LED lights
I have been thinking real hard about a set of Rigids for my truck. They are expensive so i have been holding off.
I see on ebay you can buy a multitude of LED light arrangements, some just like Rigids for a heck of a lot less money. hundreds less.
What is the actual difference in these? If the wattage is the same? Will they be as good? Im assuming build quality is less. But as far as throwing light out there is it the same? Or am i missing something, is Rigid just that over priced.

The key is Optics. You get what you pay for.

With that said, I would get two cheap chinese LED bars and still come out cheaper than rigid and have more light.

Exactly. Rigid not only makes a better housing and electronics, their lenses and reflectors are leaps and bounds above the competion. Between the Hybird "Driving" or "SuperSpot" pattern and their excellent, near 180* Diffused lens, they just can't be beat IMO.
Check out this thread for more information and ideas on how to mount your Rigid lights.

This is maybe not accurate. This goes back to the optics.
Manufacturers will rate the lumens at the source, and it may be true that the Chinese lights put out more lumens. BUT, put a chinese bar and a Rigid bar side by side, step about 200 ft away, you're gonna notice a difference. Bet you Rigid will come out on top.

2x chinese LED bars and measure the light out put at different angles off center.
I still think HIDs are gonig to beat both LED set ups.

We had a vendor send us a 20 inch LED light bar for us to "Test" we tried it in a couple situations. We have plenty of Rigid lights around here so we compared them. 1 rigid D2 out performed the generic 20 inch LED bar.
Depends what you want, if you want the light bar look, sometimes the eBay way isn't bad, but like they said above "you get what you pay for"
