After researching this, I'm about convinced that there is no LED drop in bulb that works really well with the stock fog housing. Looking at them from from the front they can appear much brighter, but they do not actually throw light in the focused beam pattern that you would want. The reflector within the stock housing is designed for a halogen bulb, and that's what seems to work best there in terms of lighting performance.
I would love it if there were a really viable drop in LED for the fog light housing, but I haven't seen one that gets great reviews. Your best bet would be the Morimoto fog housing or some have had good luck with one particular brand of 9140 replacement to match the factory HIDs better (I need to search to find which one).

Our side-firing XML2 plug and play replacement works quite well with the factory F-150 fog light optics.

That being said, $120 for a pair of LED bulbs in the stock housing is pretty pricey!

Those do look pretty nice! I'll admit, if I had the cash I'd be using Diode Dynamics for all of my LED retrofit uses. I've seen your development videos, and I certainly trust you more than the other cheap chinese options.
