Same problem here. My issue is also the remote lock/unlock just takes a lot of presses sometimes at ANY range. I can be right next to the truck just hitting the unlock button over and over to no avail sometimes. Then, I know I hit the remote start twice and it does not start. I go to hit the button two more times and it's almost like the remote start catches in the middle of starting, it turns over once - stops and the horn honks once.

When I bought my truck (01/13), the remote start was acting up. The service lady suggest I try a new battery in my FOB. That seemed to work until last week. Now at times I'm getting the same as the OP. Beeps when I lock it, beeps twice when I hit the start. Shouldn't be the battery this time. Damn, this is a big boat we're in here. I though it was just mine.

Mammonti, I'll check the hood switch, and cross my fingers that's the problem. Thanks for the post.

So I guess it is safe to say that I should not waste the money to get the factory remote start installed. I should spend it on an aftermarket one.

I wouldnt say not to get factory remote start because it is nice when it does work. Its just sucks when it doesnt work which isnt all the time. there has to b something with the FOB that is causing this problem.

i always get one horn honk, indicating the security link is bad? If that is the case, why is it so hit and miss?? Stupid computers.

I'm thinking the key/fob on most of these systems have been sitting around on a shelf for a while before we get them, I didn't install the batteries in mine, they came preinstalled.

Going to go get a fresh set of batteries just to see, cheap enough.

When mine does that its usually my fault for pressing the button more than twice.
