I'm sitting in a Kwik Kar and planned on just getting my oil changed and tires rotated and they come out and show/tell me a whole list of things that needs to be done. My truck is a 2011 ecoboost with 31,000 miles. Don't know if all this stuff needs to be done...nice guy so I believe him, but it's pricey. They are changing the battery because it's only doing 240 out of 750 or something like that. They are flushing the transmission fluid and brake fluid. New air filter. My air filter was black. And there's some other things too. He said all this stuff should be done at 30,000 miles. So I will get it done I guess. I'm just sitting here in the waiting room trying to figure out if all this stuff really needs to be done. I will include a picture of the receipt with everything that was done when they are finished. What do y'all think?

no the transmission isnt due till at least 100K...the only thing that i would do(and do myself) are the filters...tell them to not do anything BUT the oil change...i cant stand those quick lube places they have no clue about the factory recommendations

Only 240 out of 750? Amps you mean? You probably would have needed a boost to start if that was the case. These lube shops don't follow the manufacturers recommendations because there are too many to keep track of. Follow your manufacturers maintenance schedule, and save your money.

Do the oil change and air filter change (unless you want to go to an auto parts store and change your own)

Take the battery back to the dealer to test. It is under a pro-rated warranty.

I have a 2013 Ecoboost and these are my service intervals:

Oil Change 5,000-7,500
Tire Rotation 5,000-7,500
Air Filter 30,000

Radiator Flush 100,000
Spark Plugs 100,000
Belts (Inspect) 100,000
Transmission Fluid flush 150,000
Rear Differential 150,000
Transfer Case 150,000

I will note that Spark Plugs may need to be changed earlier than that.

Well they just finished. I think that was a learning lesson to say the least...came out to be a whopping $555.

I won't let any place other than the dealer touch the transmission. Seen too many cases where wrong type/improper trans fluid capacity and it's downhill from there.

Sounds like they took you for a ride but personally, I think the tranny should be flushed around 20-30k miles even though it doesn't say so in the maintenance specs. Its valuable preventative maintenance and I think its something that is necessary for giving your tranny a chance to last several hundred thousand miles.
That being said, I also refuse to let anyone but the dealership do it.

Did they include any other lubrication when they handed you the bill?
