Not a gas hog after all...
Just a quick post to report results from my day run yesterday. Reset fuel AVG MPG as I headed out from home base at 5k' elevation to 6.5k' via rolling mountains, then return via same. Gauge displayed 18.8 MPG over 200 miles as I rolled into the driveway, including some stop/go stuff at destination. Not bad for FX4 6.2L w/ 3.73 me-thinks. Odo turned 1000 miles to-date on the way home, so the engine isn't fully broken in. BTW, this was w/ replacement OEM size LT275/65R18C Toyo Open Country AT2 set to 35psi. Thinking mileage on flat interstate might be a bit higher but if not, I'm plenty happy with MPG and range w/ 36 gal tank...

BTW, had occasion this Monday for another day trip - this time opposite direction from home base at 5k' to prox 3300' via more significant up/down grades with > 6500' at peak for prox 150 miles roundtrip. Results? A bit lower at 17.2 mpg on same "zeroed out basis" which I still consider quite acceptable.

Yep and it it were a 5.0 or Eco it would have been 2-4 mpg higher... But not bad for a large older designed v8.

So far i have seen 17 MPG out of my 4x4 6.2/3.73 truck on the highway and i'm very happy with that! Actually i'm ecstatic with the 12/16 rating I've been able to meet/beat in the last 3k miles I've had the truck. Considering my other trucks get 10 mpg or less 12 mpg makes me dance haha not that i really give a crap about MPG anyhow.

I've gotten over 20 with my EB on the PA turnpike, kinda hilly on the western side of the state.
