Is it normal to want a new truck after a wreck?

Hell I am getting rid of my truck as soon as I see a scratch!!! JK,,,, But there is that couple of seconds when your new truck gets a scratch that I (some) may feel bummed! but then you realize it is a truck and move on.

For me, it depended on the circumstances.
My first new truck a young lady riding a small motorcycle crossed the divider and hit me head on. I was traveling ~50MPH so you can imagine the outcome.
As soon as that truck was repaired it went away.
Next wreck was sliding through the snow and ice in Pennsylvania. Took out several trees in the median before finally stopping. My fault for driving too fast. This truck could have been totaled but I ask the insurance company to fix it. They did and I drove it for numerous years with no regrets. The repair was good and the truck looked and drove like new.

As long as there is no structural damage fix it! Make it bigger, badder, meaner. What a great excuse to mod your truck. Get halos, get that matte black H grill, powdercoat the new bumper. You get the idea.

I found out and was lucky to walk away as I went through 5 trees in the median and ended up facing west with the rear axle dragging the rear bumper.
I learned how to drive a little slower.

Thanks for the support. I did take it to a dealership body shop. Loads of deer hits here in southwestern PA hope this is the last for me. I will most likely keep it while dreaming of an oxford white Raptor! I'm in a Ram SLT rental now and it feels like a soda can with wheels. This is my first Ford after owning a 2009 Ram and It's such a solid truck vs. the competitors!!! Plus aside from the damage I barely felt the impact of that deer.

That's not as bad as I thought the dents/broken part would be. You're ok that's all that matters. I wouldn't trade it just for that. It's not a hard/expensive fix since the airbags didn't deploy.

Yeah I think the feeling is normal, not sure if there is any underlying damages that could effect the vehicle. Yours doesn't look that bad so I'd say have it fixed. And if you're happy with it otherwise why jump into another loan for most likely more money?

I put 1200 miles on my new '13 XLT before some kid pulled out of a driveway without looking, and I nailed him doing ~35. I had the truck about 4 weeks. Truck was in the shop for 6. I JUST got it back yesterday. Total repair bill was over $16k.
Believe me. I know how you feel.
