My 09 still isn't getting text messages from my Nexus 6p. Anyone else have this issue? I do have Nav with my sync. MY sync is updated to the latest version or at least thats what Ford says on their website. Any suggestions?

My '12 hasn't been up receiving text message since I switched to an iPhone 7 back in Sept. My Galaxy s6 had no problem. Still haven't been able to figure it out.

Delete the phone from the truck and re-pair. I've had this issue. I've also noticed that after a certain amount of text messages, they would stop. I've continued to delete the messages from the truck and haven't had a problem since.


Another issue too may be to check the settings on your phone under MySync. Make sure it is set up to send messages and calls, etc...

I tried that including reseting Sync. The option for texts is greyed out for some reason.
At a loss for answers. It should work.

It's similar except it doesn't have messages option.

Ok I will try this again. I have an iPhone 5s and had the same problem not receiving texts.I went to the Ford site and researched it in their Sync section. there I found a list of phones that were compatible and what features you could use and at the time iPhone 5 was not compatible as far as texts go. Samsung was the most compatible at the time. The latest Sync update that I put in, the iPhone 5 now receives texts..sometimes. I havent been on their site for a while but could save you time if you take a look and see if your phone is compatible with sync.

Iphone does not use standard MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface)format, so SYNC cannot read it, Android does so it can read you text messages...

SYNC can read messages on iPhone just fine. It reads all of mine everyday. On the iPhone you have to take one extra step within the phone similar to Android to make it work. Works everytime after that.

With regards to the original post. You mentioned you have a Nexus 6P. What version of Android do you have? I know the Nexus gets all the updates so I am assuming you have Android 7? If you have Android 7, you're kinda outta luck. I was unable to make text messages work with it on 3 different phones (Nexus 6P, Pixel XL, and LG V20). I'm not sure if something changed or what changed with that update, but I never got text messages to work using any phone with Android 7.

My wife's iPhone 6plus works fine all of the time, my Q10 Blackberry is hit and miss.
