Default No scheduled maintenance on Fuel filter

I was reading my owner's manual, and noticed that my fuel filter has no scheduled maintenance. It's mounted in the tank, and lasts forever?? My Duramax had a big one and it was changed every 15Kmiles. Surely one tiny little fuel filter can't last forever without getting clogged. Anyone have an issue yet with clogged filter?

Diesel fuel filters and gas fuel filters are comparing apples to oranges. Diesel tends to build up wax in which gas does not. I haven't seen anyone have issues with a fuel filter. Considering the stringent fuel requirements these days, I doubt many people will have problems.

Not a little filter, big one in the fuel tank.

Most manufacturers are doing this now, I had a dodge ram hemi, filter in tank, Toyota Camry, filter in tank, Toyota Rav 4, in tank, my F150, in tank. I'm pretty sure Diesels will ALWAYS have at least one filter to change. I know it doesn't seem right, but it's fine by me, just one less thing to worry about changing. I always use big name gas & never fill up if you see a tanker putting gas in the station's tanks. That stirs up any debris.

You may be right. On the other-hand I would give Ford credit.

You could always install an inline fuel filter that could be changed.

I had a 2004 Caravan with over 86k, never changed the fuel filter. Actually, in the last 21 years I can't say I have replaced a fuel filter. Or even changed the oil in my vehicle. Just kidding on the oil change.

It is a little strange, no fuel filter replacement and no gas cap.

At least it still runs on gas!!! I'm a firm believer in fossil fuel!
