No more Ford license plate
Well, that didn't last long. MyPlates.com is discontinuing the Ford Tough and Ford Oval license plates so when it comes time for me to renew my plates in March 2014, I have to select a new plate. Pretty bummed since it matched my truck so well, but I understand having to pull it due to low demand. Hell, I was the only one I had ever seen that bought it.

I wish NM would do cool plates like that!

You can get veteran plates straight from TX DPS. My dad has Navy plates and a few guys at work have Navy retired plates and one guy has Army Paratrooper plates.

That's a bummer, in Pa when you get a personalized plate it is yours for as long as you want it, All we do is get a little sticker that shows the plates new registration with a month and year on it! So in TX you get a new set of plates each year??

Personalized plates are different and you keep those year after year, just renew them. These are "specialized" plates and are being discontinued through a third party vendor, hence the need for replacement.

That is weird, here In Cali if you paid for the plate it is yours. What happens if you don't send the plates back? can you still get your sticker? Texas is one of the weirdest states for plates. They have change the design like three times in the last 5-7 years.
Also even crazier that there was such low demand. I lived in Texas back in '04, had they had that available then I would have got one too if I knew about it. There is probably zero marketing for the plates, hence all the people that would buy it, don't even know they exist.
