I'm not sure why I haven't noticed this before now but the underside of the hood and the engine bay are not clear coated. Is this the way everyone else's trucks are?

I looked at my other older Fords and they all are clear coated..hood and engine bay.

If you have complete paint coverage, much less clear coat inside the doors and hood, count yourself lucky.

I remember a lot of complaints about no clear coat on the door jams. I was all over my truck making sure they had coverage which they did. I'm just suprised that there is no clearcoat under the hood and that I'm just now noticing it.

There's no clear coat on any of the door jambs of my 2014. I haven't really checked under the hood yet.

There hasn't been clear coat in engine bays for the better part of a decade, it's normal. Come to think of it, I don't think Toyota ever had clear under hoods, at least not in my 15 years painting.

Hell Gm doesn't even clear their door jambs
