You make a couple of valid point mamonti. However, I feel the majority here would feel that the issue some have with the ECO, a truck, is not worth the hassle and will not be an issue where they are willing to make a "stand" for the better good. The F150 is a product from a company. There are many others. So, I can see where others will say buy something else if you are not happy. That's what will ultimately get Ford's attention, not forum threads, NHTSA complaints or threats of class action lawsuits. Frankly, when you compared the F150 to a Pinto, you lost me.

Reads like a pretty straight forward discussion of the problem to me. How many ecoboosts are on the road? They sell 600k+ F150s a year, say 1/3 have EB engines, times 3 years of production, thats 600,000 Ecoboosts running around, average say 12k miles per year, that's what, 7 billion miles driven? These are ballpark numbers.

The fact that there has not been a single documented accident in literally many billions of miles driven tells me I can probably sleep safely tonight knowing I am not going to die driving to work tomorrow.

I don't mean to trivialize the problem, but perspective, people.

Your right! I know the way to hurt is to take away the money,, but that is a shame when we use to be a country where integrity and pride was taken in the products they sold! As for the Pinto? Well again you are dead on,,,, when the poop hit the fan on the pinto gas tank issue (be it still a controversy) you couldn't sell or trade it in! The answer from Ford,,, they stopped selling them!

I agree with you 100% in your efforts to get Ford to correct. But the only thing corporate America listens to is Declining Sales. If you want to hit them where it hurts, Don't buy another Ford truck. When Ford loses market share on there #1 selling vehicle then and only then will they care about what the consumer is telling them. Your Voice is in your Choice!

I hope you are right for you, your family, me and everyone else! But keep in mind many are in climates that don't have the conditions to have the failure. So your number are still impressive but so are the airlines but a plane still falls from the sky now and then and when they do,, they ground each and everyone of the model until all the repairs are made!

isn't it a little sad though??? I mean what we as people are just sitting back getting use to? I remember when you could get a tv fixed,,, today,,, no place to take it too,,, oh yeah you can send it back to the factory but as you know,,, at about the same price to buy another one. Are we all becoming a society that excepts failure as a way of life? I mean my dollar spends like it did over 40 years ago compared to it's time,, Why is it that I have a deep freezer that is over 50 years old and still working in my basement and yet I just replaced my 8 year old side by side fridge??? We say we have came a long way as far as technology but at what cost?? If we put the same pride as they did in manufacturing products decades ago and the technology is so much better than why do they last a quarter at best of the time? We are getting told,,, hey that isn't a defect,, that is the way it is suppose to be and they all do it??? And we are just sitting there and taking it??? I know,,, I know,,, Hey mamonti,, if you want a product to work as promised (that you worked as hard as you did year ago to afford) ,, then I suggest you go back about 40 to 50 years and buy one!!!

Are you really suggesting that I should garage my truck until a fix is found?

Sorry Guys I guess I am through ranting on this forum. I will still provide help to those I can and just try to keep my voice to myself as it seems we are all getting use to anyways.

No, drive it as I do mine. Nor do I suggest you never fly,,,,, I want it fixed though! of course for those that don't need warranty work ever and if you do and can't get it done I guess you will be as happy of a camper that you are now! If you have a problem with your truck will you take it to the dealer??? Why??? This doesn't seem to be a problem to you so why would anything else,, even a bad window switch?
