Looks great!

Next on my list hopefully: 5100s on the front. They do not currently rub, but only clear by about 3/4 of an inch. I worry out in the dunes I may have issues. I am also planning to paint the visible tailpipe black and add a black exhaust tip (painting a $20 stainless one versus paying $200 for a powder coated one)

Looks very good. How did you get an F150 in the middle east? Is it an import?

The Ford dealer here sells them, but they are quite overpriced. For example, the SCREW 2011 Raptor here retails for about $75,500.

I actually lucked out and ended up in a SCREW fleet XL. A construction company ordered 250 of them, then went belly up before they were able to collect them. Ford Qatar had them listed at $35,500 but were selling them for $25,000 as it was costing too much money to store them on a lot out of town. The SCREW XL comes with all the bells and whistles of an XLT inside, just has a crappy plain exterior, hence the PTM bumpers I had done before collecting the truck.

At that time (2009), the only F150s on the road were used 04-08s that people bought used from contractors at the US Base. Now they are hugely popular here and I see 10-20 2009+ on the road per day, with at least 3 or 4 being Raptors.

Cool, didn't know that. The prices you listed, is that in USD? That's extremely expensive. I suppose because they are imported overseas which increases the cost significantly. But an XL supercrew is unheard of. You can't get one in North America other wise I would probably have one!

Those are all in USD. I am actually hoping to bring mine back. According to build sheet I received from Ford, it meets emission requirements in 49 states, so hopefully I can import it. I assume California is the exception.

I just started upgrading it because any prior modifications voided the warranty. Now the warranty has expired.

To give you an idea of the "stealership", I have to have the truck serviced every 5000km or they void the warranty (the manual stipulates 12000 km). A routine service (oil and air filter) is right at $110. The 30k km service that includes transmission fluid and fuel filter is about $400.

Lovely Truck, I have a black one also in Doha, I need a nice set of wheels, any idea where to get. Hard to find Ford parts here.

chancetlu 08-24-2012 04:14 AM

Wheels were ordered from Grant at tirerack.com and shipped direct via FedEx. Shipping was about 400USD. If you ship wheels and tires both it is about 700USD for shipping. CAI and Tuner was ordered from Mike at 5StarTuning and shipped direct. There is a place in Doha near TV Roundabout called City Streets that sells exhaust, CAI, tuners, recon lights etc; but it was cheaper for me to order and ship than to buy locally. Summit Racing and 4 wheel parts will also ship direct to Qatar.
