Default New Wheels and Sensors. (Tire Pressure Monitor Fault)

Hey guys,

It seems like I had this problem last time I swapped wheels but I can not remember for sure. New tires, wheels, and sensors and about 15 miles in I got a "Tire pressure monitor fault" code. Is there a way to relearn or reset the system?

Yes, you have to let the truck and the TPMS sensor talk to each other. In the manual, there is a way to complete the process and you can use the $30 tool or you can let air out of the tire for 10 seconds.

begins on page 373

Thank you, any other ideas. I have a attempted this 10+ times with no luck. My TMPS are new, not the ones that were in the factory wheels (if that matters)

do you know which ones were installed?? Also are your stock wheels nearby when you attempt to learn?

The brand was alligator (same ones they installed on my 2011). Old wheels were not around the first few times I tried.

I'm having the same issue with mine as well. New wheels and tires with new sensors. It made it maybe 75 miles and then threw the TPMS Fault.

I'll try the relearn process by letting air out for 10 seconds and then top them off again.

Will post back with results.

I looked it up and pages 386 and 387 tell you how to do the rest procedure in the owners manual.

Hopefully that procedure worked for you. I tried it 10 times yesterday with now luck and spent $7 at the air station lol.

Found out today that using the "pressing the flashers 3 times to get into train mode" only works if you're using oem TPMS. The need to use the "brake and key in on/off 3 times" method when programming aftermarket sensors. Got it

No luck here either.

What's the brake key off 3 times method?

Well, Yesterday my new TPMS sensors were giving me trouble. I also have the TPMS19 tool and it was a no go.

Had to go into Firestone so they could use their Snapon TPS3 tool.
