Default New Truck(which one?)

Ok, so I am new here and this is my first post. I rolled my f-250 7.3 diesel and totaled it, now I want to either get a newer 6.4 diesel or a 5.0 or a ecoboost. For the 6.4 diesel I know everything about it as far as reliability and yada yada. My question is will the ecoboost or the 5.0 compete with a diesel for drivability, performance, comfort, and the general feel of a truck. I love my diesels but the maintenance is so high for a diesel which is why I want to look into the gas world again.

My application:
Has to be able to tow on a regular reliable basis(not extremely heavy loads)
Has to be comfortable, I want to be able to drive it for 6 hours straight.
I do want the feel/power to have fun a little bit.
I want something that is kind of flashy (what kind of milage to you get with these gas motors with a little lift? no bigger than 4")

the pros and cons of each gas motor posted would help a lot.

Did the Ecoboost get the intercooler issue figured out?
Does the 5.0 have enough power to be able to tow and not suffer mileage greatly?

I will most likely put exhaust, intake, and tune which ever gas motor I get if I go that route.

thank you all in advance.

either the 5.0 or Eco will be a solid choice

the 6.2 is kind of out of the question, I'm just not a fan of big cubic motors unless its a diesel. I like the idea of a 5.0 with the boss kit on it for added hp. Im just torn between the three (6.4,ecoboost,5.0) I havent had someone come in and lay hard facts on my ya know? I want great mileage so thats kind of another reason the 6.2 is out. Thats also the reason the 6.4 is still in contention because I could lift it (4") and then delete all the emissions, tune it, exhaust, intake and still get really good mileage. For the gassers I'd more than likely just level if the mileage drops like I hear everyone say.

Test drive both and see which one you want or if your like me don't really care. Just like everyone else with a 11-13 I had the choice of either motor and so do you. I personally went with the 5.0 as the truck that I bought was exactly what I wanted and happened to be 5.0. If it were ECO it would still be in the driveway.

I was just trying to get the 5.0 guys fired up. It's been pretty widely reported that the Eco uses a LOT more gas after a decent lift and tires. Haven't heard noticed the 5.0 guys reporting the same, but I would imagine the results are similar. The Eco makes a lot of power throughout the rev range, being used to a diesel you will like the Eco much better and you will feel let down by the gassers as they need to rev up a fair bit before they get into the power. Test drive them all, and make your decisions.
