Default New Truck Nav Has me "Off Road"

Anyone else have an issue with the factory nav system. Seems like it is hit or miss, but more than a few times it shows my car off the road....as in a little to the left or to the right of the actual road. It's not just a visual thing, it confuses the nav and as I hit cross roads it keeps re-calculating.

1) I did shorten the antenna on my truck but seriously doubt the nav system uses the antenna.

2) Is there a GPS reset button or synch feature where you can see how strong your signal is?

Thanks

If it's a 2013, there is a TSB for it. It's more than a reflash.
An interesting note... Ram has the same "off road" problems with their newest nav system. They must both use the same source.

Tsb? Technical service bulletin? Meaning they know about it but there is no fix?

TSB's are usually instructions on how to fix a known issue, to save techs time. See the attached TSB in this case.

Might be the map itself. I've had programs to where you can tell it to be where the gps says you are or snap to road just in case there were any slight discrepencies with the maps.

Default TSB 12-11-1 fixed.....

....issues on my 2013 FX4.....make sure dealer has new SD card for navigation system in stock when you get this done.

Also helped with problems I had with iPhone dropping sync.

Took about two hours to do at my dealership.

You guys are awesome. Thanks! I will call ahead about the SD card and walk in with the TSB. They were unaware of any issues when I called them last week.

The labeling on my '12 sync nav is terrible. It often confuses the cross streets with the one you are driving on. Streets aren't labeled in the same direction. Just kind of throws the street name in the general area without any regard to direction of the street or orientation of the street.

I have exact same prob on my 13 FX4. Took it and had this tsb done. Did NOT fix the issue and so far they have no idea what to do to fix it. This is goes back tomorrow for them to keep for extended time now(until its fixed) if it goes on too long I will just tell them to keep it and get something else if is not an easy repair. I don't want to get into not having it for several weeks is what I mean.
