New Tires Purchased: Opinions (good or bad)
hey guys, well I got new tires today and wanted to know your thoughts.
I had Cooper Discovery ATPs and were stock size at 275/55/20. I had my Biltstein 5100's put on and they looked like little skateboard tires on my truck with it sitting a bit higher.
2 of the Coopers are only 2 months old and the other 2 are aabout 7mo. So relatively decent tires. I plan to sell them on Craigslist or something, for what $350? What do you think, just estimating.
Next, I wanted to get BFGs, Toyo, etc but got hit with a a few unexpected bills and couldn't justify dropping $1400 cash for now.
I wanted to go 33" to fill in some space so I went with Goodyear Wranglers because my buddy at his shop gave me a good deal. I got 4 brand new 275/60/20 for $600 installed. Granted they aren't aggressive like I wanted but I also saved $800 from other brands locally and these are rated for 90k miles.
Since I prefer more aggressive tires but looking at the pros/cons of both, I'm kinda caught in limbo right now, and would like to hear from the masses. Does my truck look ok with these 33" tires?

You won't get squat for selling tires, unless you're really lucky.
As for what you have, they look about the same as stock. And given your other mods, you're screaming for some mean tires.

I think a more aggressive looking tire would look better with your setup. Those honestly look like stockers to me. I did something similar when buying drag radials, tried to cut corners on price now I'm just looking to replace my tires with about 11 miles with new ones. Wish I would have spent a little more up front and done it right, would have saved me money in the long run compared to doing it over.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, I'm open to all comments. Good or bad.
Hmmm, he said he'd buy them back in 6mo for $350. Haha
So, many I may him back up and say "f" it, keep $200, and give me them other tires. Not sure if he'd go for it but it's worth a try.
He's saying 35's won't fit. My understanding is I can't put a spacer on top of Biltstein max out, true? He says he'd take my rims, give XD series with tires for $1400.
As far as use tires, here in so cal, people buy them up like candy. A used set with 80% treat of Nitto terra grapplers are a steal at $500. They cant keep use tires on the shelf.

Buy what you want the first time. Making personal decisions based on public opinion will never bring you happiness or satisfaction.
On stock height suspension, you'll be limited to a tire with actual physical dimensions of about 33 x 11.5 with offset having some influence on those numbers. The more you stick them out, the more they'll rub.

I wouldn't be happy with those tires, with all of the other mods you have for off road, you need a more aggressive tire. Don't rush buying something next time. You still had some time on your other tires and could have saved a couple more months for what you really wanted. I went 295/55/20 ridge grapplers with no level yet and love them.

You guys are right. I shouldn't have gone with these.
Hopefully, he'll be cool enough to work something out.
Have you ever heard of Atturo XL? He said he'll have those Monday.
