New Tire Suggestions
Looking at buying new tires in. Couple of months and was wondering what everyone thinks what the best mud terrain tire to buy. It has to be a 35" and no wider than 12". Mainly looking for Goodyear MTR with Kevlar, BFG KM2, nitto trail grappler, or Goodyear Duratrac. Pictures and comments welcomed.
Thanks!

Just out of curiosity why a mud tire over an all terrain? Is it just for the look? I have two friends at work, one running a bf Goodrich km2 and the other running a toyo mt. I like the km2 better. Good luck.

The quietest and lightest is of those options is going to be the Duratracs. Should have all the off-road capabilities you need with the least amount of impact to mileage/power. However, they have thinner sidewalls, so if you put your tuck in particular situations where that might be a problem, then another choice my be best. Duratracs are being installed on my truck Friday. I've had the trails before and they were just too heavy and loud for the type of driving I do normally. They were good besides that. I think the duratracs look just as aggressive as they did.

Thanks. The reason I am going to a m/t is because both bfg at and goodyear Duratrac both come in a 325/65/18 to achieve a 35" tall tire which I believe would be too wide on a stock rim which also would hit the UCA. So, the MTR is my best option by going with a 285/75/18. Which would not hit the UCA and clear both fender and wheel-wells. Also I like the aggressive look and don't mind the loudness of m/t due to I have straight piped the truck

I'm receiving Toyo Open Country AT II today in 285/75r18. Not a MT, but a pretty darn good looking AT. There is a open thread for this specific tire with some good pictures on p27/28.

Jealous, I have a buyer for my Nitto Trails but my tire company just jacked up the cost of the Toyo's. 1450 installed...

I agree with TXA as I have the Duratracs too. Very aggressive look for an AT; relatively quiet (especially compared to my previous Nittos and KM2s) and handle surprisingly well.
This is the only pic I have that shows off the aggressive look.
If I was going to go back to a MT, I would go back to the KM2s as they were a tad lighter than the Nitto Trails but also a tad quieter and wore better.

I really enjoy my Toyo MTs. They are heavy, but a smooth riding, pull very well in mud, great looking, and have enough road noise in my opinion. I like a little road noise to show some aggression. I have almost 11k miles and they still look brand new (knocking on wood). I have a few friends with duratracs on 1/2 ton and 1 ton duallys... they are very inconsistent on mileage and the buddies with the 1 tons regret getting them because belts are shifted and arent lasting at all. I would suggest the Toyo MTs
