Just pulled the trigger and ordered a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. 305-55-20 for my 11 FX4, I am planning on keeping stock height if no rub, I kind of like the rake!!!!! Cant wait to get them, tired of winter set up look!!!! I will also make some minor blacked out like plasti dip my Fx4 badges, fog lights, 3rd brake, painting my tailpipe and new tips flatblack with high heat paint, and just had a flat black FX4 decal made by a shop here.

Get ready for rubbing issues if not using a level and using stock wheels..Too wide for stock setup..I may be wrong but you will rub control arm and problem some other areas..Didn't you research this first? Also a 305 tire is a bit of a stretch to put on the 8.5" wide stock wheel. It will bulge out quite a bit..Again I may be incorrect but I just finished shopping for new wheels and tires and did a ton of research and ready hundreds of threads. My conclusion is you will have problems with that tire on that setup

this is a contradictory post to what another member on this forum said.

I was under the impression that this is fine.

Thank you sir, yes I did, there someone in here User name " PawPaw" has the same tires size and for a while was running them with no levling. He was saying it was close but no rubbing. He now have a 2" levling not because of rubbing but for the look. Yes I did research If I have any kind of rubbing I will not wait and level it for sur. Thanks

a 305/55/20 tire is approximately 33.30".. the problems he will have is with the width of the tire..he could fit a 275/60/20 on stock setup without any issues but going as wide as a 305 with no level and stock rims i don't think will work without issues. But if Paw Paw said it will work then by all means I guess it will..I guess you will find out..At full lock you will rub somewhere..Hopefully just somewhere you can trim but if it is that close to the control arm it will rub at full lock

This is when they were on at stock height, adding the level really didn't help due to the width of the tires (12.6) wide. Nitto makes an XL in this size that's 12.4 inches wide that will give a little more clearance. I've put around 15k miles on these in a year and haven't rubbed yet but they are real close maybe 1/4 inch from the control arm.

I've been researching these same tires and size. Does it matter if it's a 2WD or 4WD. I've got a 2" level with 4WD

This is what forum member Easysmeasy posted on a thread I was on

Easy Smeasy put them on his 4x2 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit and it cleared the tires. The 4x4's will clear at stock height.

Nitto Website has specs on approved rims for the 305/55/20 as follows in inches

8.5-(9.5)-11.0
not sure why 9.5 is in ()
