Default New Plugs on 2012 Eco = 2.5 MPG Gain (City)

I have been getting awful mileage on my 2012 EB and after reading up on the Spark Plug Gap Thread I decided to swap out my plus -- and boy I'm glad I did.

I changed to the 2013 model year plugs (SP-534 instead of the older SP-528) and gapped them at .030. The difference was an instant city driving 2 MPG gain that continues to get better (it's about 2.5 MPG now and I'm still on the same tank). Bought them at O'Reilly's for just under $4 a plug.

ETA: Mileage differences were from using the same E10 gas.

How many miles did the old plugs have on them?

This.

I am thinking about changing them out on my '12. For $24, it would be worth it to me.

28k on mine.

I'm changing mine as well. I've got 9k mils on mine. From what I've heard the factory plugs are gapped all over the place.

I didn't bother measuring the gaps on the ones I took out but visually they were nowhere close being uniform.

Interesting.

I've only had my truck for a month but I've noticed it gets around 15-16 in town and 19 on the interstate. I have a really light foot and just lug it around town.

Wonder if I should check the plugs? Is the consensus to go with the oem plugs? Or an aftermarket set?

I have been so hesitant on installing new plugs but this might put me over the edge. I have a set of brisk plugs I ordered from amazon ready to go in, I just haven't been to confident in the results I have found on the forums. I might just go ahead and order new OEM plugs that are gapped properly.
Anyone have any info or experience with brisk plugs for eco?

Just did mine at 44,000. Big deference. Great idle. Mileage is to be seen. But it drives much better already. The 20 mile trip I took was a little over 20 with me playing with it.

All my old ones were gapped the same... .40.
