New Personal Best ECOBOOST MPG
Just got rid of my 10 ply tires and went to Firestone Destination LE2's.
Changed the oil with fresh synthetic and on my first highway drive
I was able to get 28.5 MPG at 65 MPH - a new personal best. These Firestone's really helped and even beat the OE tires at 27 MPG.
Bet if I drive 59 MPH, change the differentials with fresh synthetic and a long relatively flat highway I would hit 30 MPG.
The 28.5 was achieved on a highway in Virginia with slight dips and hills.
But more flat than hilly.
I have 54K miles on the EB and change my oil every 7500 with synthetic.
I have the max towing, 4X4, 3.73 rear, SuperCrew.
Love this truck still. Can still hang/walk 350Z's all day. And I'm stock!

That was the first time I drove it on an extended drive on the highway with the Firestone's. I think it was about 55 miles or so for around an hour.
But since, I have reset the computer a couple times and driven it easy for maybe 20 miles with the same results. But hills change it quite a bit. Drops to like 24-25.
Trip coming up but towing. That wont count.
I do have a trip in July and I will be loaded with 500+ lbs of stuff in the bed, 4 people and a dog. Bet I can still get 25.
I will take pics of the mileage as I drive and post. I must have gotten an oddball EcoBoost.

I think you get more people complaining online than you get touting its capabilities. Most people are happy and yet say nothing. I also think most do not get similar outcomes to mine - I've seen a few post similar or better results.
If I drive her easy, she gets insane mileage.
My 2009 5.7L Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior with 4.30 rear (stock) was LUCKY to beat 12 city and 16 hwy... Just for comparison. But man that thing was sick 0-60!

I have no idea how yall are seeing these numbers. Mixed highway/city driving in my 14 Platinum I see 14-15 mpg avg according to my gauges on the dash. I do not drive it hard at all. It does have 275/60/20 Open Country A/T IIs on it, so maybe that is a reason. I put premium in it yesterday so maybe I will see an increase.

I believe it. Doing 65mph I can easily get in the mid 20mpgs on a calm day. Problem is I would rather be doing 75mph - 80mph so I'll just have to live with 19mpg.

I've got the same truck, 2012 4X4 Eco screw with 3.73 and max tow just turning 77k miles. I'm running the Michelin LTX M/S squared's. I've ran AMsoil in the engine from first oil change, and will put in tranny and rear end when it's time. I just had the latest calibration on mine done but they had to order the cat. Seems it burnt it out between the first TSB and this one. With the new cal I see 19 - 20 at 65. I can get 24 at 60mph on two lane flat country road. The problem with the MPG is there are so many variables to compare. I bought my truck more for the boost than the eco, so I'm not real MPG minded, but if I want to get crazy numbers for a full size 4X4 truck I can drive it for the MPG and get it. There is a fine line on these trucks. If I keep it under 1800 RPM or so with the cruise on, the MPG is there. 2000 RPM and it's gone.
However, as I alluded to above, just about the time my MPG is looking good, I get bored and stomp that puppy. With the power and boost back now I've been doing that more than I should I guess. That truck will absolutely get from whatever to 100 MPH quicker than anything I've had in the last 20 years. The tech working on it last week was a youngster about 24, and he did a double take when I asked him if he would take the 100 MPH limit off it. I told him I'd buy tires rated for it. I guess he thought at 60 I was to old to be running that fast.

1.) I get bored out of my mind going that slow and can't stand people passing me.
2.) I'm usually heading to somewhere fun if I'm going to be on the road that long and just want to get there. Cracking a beer and starting my vacation 30 min earlier is priceless. I'll take the MPG hit for that
