I still don't think my mileage has improved much, if any... How many miles do each of you have on your trucks? Mine is at about 3700 right now.

Hmmm. I wonder if there's a chance that they never did the recall on mine the? Is there any way I can check the PCM firmware to make sure it's the right one?

Last night my '13 F150 Eco FX4 with 14K miles on it had the CEL light came on…no sputtering or anything…my MPG dropped big time from avg 20-21mpg down to barely breaking 16mpg. Just called to get update on service and he told me the PCM had to be reprogrammed…..also I've had a weird clicking sound when switching from park…said that was a TSB as well…something about needing a shim somewhere in the drivetrain……I should have it back tonight…so I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: After the dealership started working on the MPG issue and CEL light…it ended up being that the PCM needed to be updated/reprogramed according to the RECALL not TSB. Also, the clunking noise I had when shifting from park was sought out to be the rear end. There was some sort of pinion shim that was missing, new bearings, oil slingers and it was good to go. MPG's are back up to over 20mpg.

I'm glad to hear your dealership got this taken care of for you, 09fx4bowhunter! Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance in the future.

did my VIN search and my truck does not fall into the recall. I guess I am stuck with 12.8 mpg's with this gas hog!!! thought maybe I had a fix for it.

Default Recall

Here's a good one. Got the recall letter for this in November. I have my truck at dealership right now for an oil change and the recall. Service guy says I don't have a recall on my truck. And of course I don't have the recall letter with me.

Hi fishrprice,

You can check on any recalls that apply to your vehicle by entering your VIN here: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten...ge/RecallsPage Let me know if you have any other questions.

My truck doesn't have a recall when I do the Vin# search, but has every other symptom could it also need this update? I don't know how much longer I can deal with 11 mpg's
